The Sy Fi channel is making some.. ok, many.. that fall into this category. I can't recall the exact title, but a recent one with former teen singers Tiffany and Gibson concerning pythons and alligators. One, a tree hugger, releases pythons into the Florida swamp. They, for some reason, grow to gigantic proportions and begin eating both gators and people. Including the other's fiance. She feeds steroids to gators turning them into killing machines the size of a bus. The two singers are in knock down drag out fights throughout and the mover is chock full of references and lyrics from their songs. Favorite scene.. formal party being attacked, hero yells "if you have a gun, shoot". Everyone at the party, including the women, whip out hardware and unloads. Former Monkee Micky Dolenz (entertainment at the party) gets eaten by a snake, thankfully before he sings.

A true stinker you can't look away from.

Oldboy.

A Korean film about revenge that absoulutly tickles my morbid, sadistic and mind-fuckery sides. Bloody and brutal and full of twists turns and confustion, it's definatly one to suggest to friends and co-workers, if they have the stomach for it.

I basically laughed like a loon the entire time I watched this movie. No, I wasn't drunk, or under any mind-influence but my own madness and morbid sense of humor.

This is most deffinatly not for the faint of heart, the squimish or for anyone who takes life at all seriously.

Avalible on netflix, watch at your own peril.

This is by far one of the most interesting movies I've watched. It is a bizzare mix of high school drama, street-level crime and murder-mystery, all wrapped up in a pseudo-noir dialouge, film style and directing. The Dialouge and filming itself skirts pariously close to narm at times, but never quite passess over, keeping to traditional "noir" feeling.
The Story itself is a calssic "who-done-it" mystery set at the high-school level, but but seamlessly blended into the noir-type archetypes. There is a certain level of violence to the story (being a murder-mystery) but the fights are not unrealistic, nor burded with speacil effects or over0emphasised to cover lack of plot.

This film is available on netfix in Canada, and I would highly suggest watching it.
